MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - The first phase of the trade and logistics subpark in the Belaris-China industrial park Great Stone has been commissioned. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin partook in the opening ceremony, BelTA has learned.
The deputy prime minister noted that the agreements related with the park's construction are being implemented ahead of schedule. “The project has been completed very promptly. The ground-breaking ceremony with the participation of the Belarusian and Chinese leaders was held less than two years ago. Pre-construction activities and design have been finished within a year. So, it took a year to complete the first phase of the logistics center project,” Anatoly Kalinin remarked.
Anatoly Kalinin underlined that the construction of social facilities and residence buildings will begin in the nearest future. It will involve Chinese technical and economic support. “We have started to design a fire station to be built by the end of 2017. A shopping center will be constructed, too,” Anatoly Kalinin said.
The first phase of the trade and logistics subpark occupies 29 hectares. Real estate covers 100,000 km2. 50,000 km2 out of them is occupied by storage premises, 23,000 km2 by an exhibition center. Around $120 million worth of foreign investment was injected into the subpark construction project.
There are plans to start building the second phase of the project. The total territory of the subpark will be over 90 hectares. The total volume of investment is expected to make up $500 million.
