First batch of Belarusian gasoline arrives in Russia's Ust-Luga seaport

First batch of Belarusian gasoline arrives in Russia's Ust-Luga seaport

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) - The first batch of gasoline from Belarus arrived at the port of Ust-Luga in Leningrad Oblast of Russia on 7 March. These deliveries are carried out within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Belarus, TASS reports citing the press service of the Leningrad regional government.

“The Portenergo Terminal (the seaport in Ust-Luga) has started to accumulate a shipload of gasoline delivered from the Republic of Belarus. The first train brought about 3,500 tonnes of fuel, another one is expected by the end of the day. The shipper is the Mozyr oil refinery. The fuel was delivered faster than scheduled: originally the trains were to arrive on 9 March,” the press service informed.

Belarus and Russia signed the intergovernmental agreement on transshipment of Belarusian oil products via Russian sea ports in February. Over 9.8 million tonnes of cargoes are expected to be transshipped in 2021-2023. The port in Ust-Luga has been chosen as the main point of delivery of light oil products.

“Leningrad Oblast reaffirms its status of one of the main economic partners of Belarus. Our seaport facilities are fully prepared for further receipt of Belarusian oil transit," the press service quoted Leningrad Oblast Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko as saying.
