First apartment building in Great Stone park to be commissioned in 2019

First apartment building in Great Stone park to be commissioned in 2019

MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The first apartment building of the rental housing complex on the territory of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone will be commissioned in 2019, head of the industrial park administration Alexander Yaroshenko said during a groundbreaking ceremony on 21 November, BelTA has learned.

“We hope that the apartment building for 156 families will be built here in less than a year. It will mark the beginning of the construction of an entire city,” Alexander Yaroshenko said.

The building will have 5-6 floors and will include studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a drugstore, a public utilities office, a hair parlor, a post office, a first-aid center, public services center, and a police office.

Speaking with reporters, Alexander Yaroshenko noted: “In line with the general development plan, over 120,000 people will live here after the project is completed. In particular, around 10,000 people will live on this venue, near the village of Bykachino where the first apartment building will be constructed.”

The apartment building will be built using technical and economic aid of the People’s Republic of China.

According to Alexander Yaroshenko, the housing construction concept might include the so-called rebranding opportunity. “The leaders of the two states gave an instruction to consider turning the park into an international satellite of the Belarusian capital city. Therefore, while building this apartment building and other properties we will proceed from the fact that construction projects should incorporate cutting-edge technologies,” he said.

The residential complex will be free from traffic. Automobile roads and a parking will be located outside the residential area.

Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Matusevich noted that the first apartment building will become a symbol of the smart city in the Great Stone park. It is still unclear how many buildings the new residential complex will incorporate. “We are in talks with our partners at the Ministry of Commerce of China. I believe that in the future the city will become attractive for investors and that new residential property will be built not only with the help of Chinese technical and economic resources,” he concluded.
