MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Belarusian dairy and meat products are of high quality, Raimund Jehle, FAO Regional Strategic Programs Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia, told the media on 14 September.

"When I was in Belarus in June I made sure that dairy and meat products and cheese are of supreme quality. This creates a good basis for export development," Raimund Jehle said. According to him, Belarus has a capacity to increase domestic consumption of dairy products.

Belarus and the FAO signed the Country Program Framework 2017-2020 on 14 September. The program is aimed at providing support in the areas of food safety, forest resource assessment, phytosanitary control, rehabilitation of degraded lands, adaptation to climate change and mitigation of its impact. It also provides for the strengthening of the national capacities to promote employment, develop business and diversify the income of rural population.
