MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The export of products of the Industry Ministry enterprises to far-away countries increased by 1.5 times in the first quarter of 2025, the press service of the Industry Ministry told BelTA after a meeting to discuss the performance of enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry in January - March.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the ministry, heads of structural divisions of the ministry and heads of industrial enterprises, as well as Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Industrial Workers Belprofmash Valery Kursevich and Chairman of the Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) Anatoly Kharlap. The meeting was chaired by Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov.

The participants of the meeting analyzed indicators related to output, investment, innovations and exports. They also discussed ways to increase efficiency, introduce advanced technologies and implement strategic initiatives in a bid to improve the performance of the industrial sector.

In the first quarter of 2025, the output of enterprises subordinate to the Industry Ministry exceeded Br7.7 billion. Thus the manufacturing sector operated in the black in this period. Targets related to the profitability of sales and investments in fixed assets were over-fulfilled. The export of products to far-away countries increased by 1.5 times. Shipments to African countries rose by 1.8 times, deliveries to Asia went up by 1.7 times.

Aleksandr Yefimov emphasized the importance of joint efforts of the Industry Ministry and enterprises. “Ensuring sustainable growth of the industrial sector is one of the priority tasks for our ministry. We continue to explore new opportunities to increase the competitiveness of domestic products and to ramp up exports,” the minister emphasized.

Following the meeting, recommendations for key industries were adopted, effective solutions for enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry were proposed.
