Expansion of export-oriented manufacturing with Polish capital in Belarus discussed

MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – The ways to expand export-oriented manufacturing with Polish participation in Belarus was discussed in Warsaw. The issue was considered at a meeting of the Belarusian-Polish working group on trade and investment on 15 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Guryanov. The Polish side was headed by Deputy Minister of Economy Andrzej Dycha. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including industrial cooperation, finance and insurance. The parties shared information on investment projects in the construction of logistics and trading centers, modernization of transport infrastructure.

On the same day the Polish capital played host to a roundtable on economic cooperation intensification. Attending the meeting were businessmen, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of local authorities and self-administration of Belarus and Poland, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, business unions and associations.

The meeting highlighted Belarus’ promising areas for Polish investors, legal regimes and working conditions for foreign companies on the Belarusian market taking into account the operation of the Eurasian Economic Union.

While in Warsaw, Alexander Guryanov met with heads of Polish companies working in the energy area, motor-car construction, woodworking, production and processing of the agricultural produce.
