MOZYR, 28 August (BelTA) – Representatives of ten countries have got familiar with the capabilities of Pripyat Polesie of Belarus during the Mozyr Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

The forum brought together diplomats from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Iran, Lithuania, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Sudan, and Uzbekistan. Mozyr also welcomed representatives of other Belarusian regions.

Since its establishment, the Mozyr Economic Forum has turned from a regional event into an event of national significance. This year’s edition is timed to the Day of Commercial Adviser, one of the most important events for trade and economic advisers at embassies accredited in Belarus.

Chairwoman of the Mozyr District Executive Committee Yelena Pavlechko gave a presentation on the economic and investment potential of Mozyr District. The forum showcased capabilities and resources of Mozyr Mechanical Engineering Plant, Belaruskabel, Mozyr Woodworking Plant, Mozyr Dairy Products, and the investment project Ice Arena in Mozyr.

The program of the forum included visits to Mozyrsalt and Mozyr Oil Refinery. In the morning, trade and economic advisers laid flowers at the memorial complex Ola in Svetlogorsk District. The forum will continue on 29 August.

Events timed to Day of Commercial Adviser are traditionally organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They are held in various parts of Belarus and are meant to promote the country’s economic potential. Foreign diplomats get familiar with a certain region, visit local enterprises and historical sites, and taste products by Belarusian manufacturers. This year, these activities are centered around the Belarusian Polesie area. A majority of the foreign diplomats have been there for the first time.
