MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan have deepened their partnership in the agro‑industrial sector at a forum in Astana, BelTA learned from Deputy Director of the Belarusian National Center for Marketing Yevgeny Rusak.
The 1st Belarus-Kazakhstan Agricultural Forum was a significant event that marked the beginning of a new phase in cooperation between the two countries in the agro‑industrial area. The event was aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, developing joint projects in agriculture, agrotechnology, and innovative solutions for the agro‑industrial complex.
Yevgeny Rusak noted that the forum’s goal is to present Belarus’ experience in developing its agro‑industrial complex, discuss prospects for cooperation, exchange knowledge and best practices, and establish direct business contacts between representatives of the two countries. “The event brought together producers, exporters, representatives of trading companies, educational institutions, as well as organizations supporting international trade. We see strong interest in the Belarusian agricultural sector and are confident that this meeting will mark the beginning of new mutually beneficial projects,” he said.
The forum was organized by the Belarusian National Center for Marketing with the support of the Embassy of Belarus in Kazakhstan and the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry. Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. The forum brought together over 100 representatives of Belarus and Kazakhstan, including heads of relevant ministries, leading agricultural companies, research institutions, and business circles.
The program featured thematic panel sessions and presentations of advanced developments in agricultural machinery, crop production, animal husbandry, and biotechnology. The forum concluded with the signing of a number of cooperation agreements between enterprises and research centers of Belarus and Kazakhstan, and the conclusion of commercial contracts worth over $90 million.
