Contracts on Belarusian food supplies in 2018 to be signed at Minsk Days in Moscow

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – The documents on the supplies of Belarusian food products to the Russian capital in 2018 and also an agreement on the cooperation between Moscow and Minsk in health protection will be signed at the Minsk Days in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.

The Minsk Days in Moscow will be held on 10-11 October.

The agreements on Belarusian food supplies to Moscow in 2018 will be signed at the meeting between Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets on 10 October.

The parties are also expected to sign a memorandum of cooperation in health protection. The document envisages cooperation and an intensified exchange of experience between representatives of the healthcare systems, the leading medical institutions of the two cities. The memorandum stipulates assistance in training, retraining and mastering of new methods of diagnostics and treatment in the leading medical institutions of Minsk and Moscow, an exchange of experience in improving access to medical assistance in clinics and its quality, participation in the development of medical tourism for residents of Moscow and Minsk, an exchange of delegations of medical specialists. In line with the memorandum which will be valid for three years from the date of its signing, the parties will jointly improve the legal framework of bilateral cooperation in transplantology.

The business cooperation forum Moscow-Minsk will be held at the business and cultural center of the Belarusian embassy in Russia on 11 October. The forum will include a number of sections: Infrastructure off Big Cities, Smart Cities and Technology, Minsk Tourism: Healthcare, Rehabilitation and Culturology. Representatives of the two capitals will share experience in such areas as lowering energy consumption in the housing stock, design and construction of the metro in urban conditions, car parking and a comprehensive transport scheme, restoration of the historical center, the application of deformation-resistant materials in repairs and road construction.

On 10 October the Belarusian delegation led by Andrei Shorets will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the commemorative plaques to Minsk Hero City and Brest Hero Fortress at the Kremlin Wall. Andrei Shorets is expected to visit the road traffic center, Zaryadye Park, Otkrytiye Arena Stadium.

The program of the Minsk Days in Moscow will include a meeting between MPs of the Moscow Duma and the Minsk Council of Deputies. The youth parliaments of Moscow and Minsk will conclude an agreement on partnership and cooperation. Attending the signing ceremony will be Chairman of the Youth Chamber at the Minsk Council of Deputies Yegor Makarevich and Chairperson of the Youth Chamber at the Moscow Duma Maria Letnikova. Under the agreement, young MPs of the two cities will strengthen inter-parliamentary ties, share experience in the areas related to the rights and legal interests of the youth, develop law making initiatives in the youth policy, organize joint projects for the youth of Minsk and Moscow, and promote the youth parliamentary movement in the two cities. The youth delegation of Moscow will pay a return visit to Minsk in H1 2018.

The official opening ceremony for the Minsk Days in Moscow will take place in Helikon Opera. The concert will feature People’s Artist of Belarus Anatoly Yarmolenko, the Belarusian band Chistyi Golos, prizewinners of international competitions Piotr Yelfimov, Ivan Vabishchevich, soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater, prizewinner of international contests Ilya Silchukov, Honored Artist of Belarus, soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera an Ballet Theater Yelena Shvedova.

The Museum of Moscow is hosting a photo exhibition of the Minsk History Museum on 3-21 October. The exhibition marks 950 years of Minsk and depicts the city’s development milestones. The exhibition will be presented on 10 October.

The fair of Belarusian goods Minsk for Muscovites will be taking place at two venues from 10 to 15 October. The fair will display a variety of food products, goods of the light industry, carpets, ceramics, leather goods, products made of straw, footwear, and many more.

The two cities have been closely cooperation since 2012. The two capitals host each other’s days on a regular basis. Moscow and Minsk develop active relations in various areas, including trade, economic, social and cultural sectors.

Belarus and Russia’s Moscow are implementing the plan of actions to develop trade, economic, sci-tech, humanitarian, cultural and social cooperation for 2016-2018.
