Construction of sulfur plant nearing completion at Mozyr Oil Refinery

GOMEL, 26 October (BelTA) – The construction and installation works needed to launch the sulfur plant at the H-Oil complex are on the home stretch at Mozyr Oil Refinery. The plant is 99% ready, BelTA learned from the company. 

The construction of the heavy oil hydrocracking complex at Mozyr Oil Refinery is nearing completion. A hydrogen plant is almost ready for commissioning. Installation works are in full swing there. Off-plant utilities are 100% ready.

The integrated hydrocracking unit of the H-Oil complex is 80% complete. Construction and installation works are in progress there. The pipeline hydrostatic testing, as well as insulation, electrical operations, installation of of test equipment are underway.

According to the company, the complex for the hydrocracking of heavy oil is provided with electricity and heat supply.

The construction of the heavy oil hydrocracking complex is Mozyr Oil Refinery’s largest investment project on record. Its cost is estimated to exceed $1.2 billion. In essence building the complex is like building another enterprise. The heavy oil hydrocracking complex comprises an integrated hydrocracking unit, a hydrogen plant, a sulfur plant, and 21 off-plant facilities. The implementation of the investment project will allow increasing the crude oil upgrading index up to 90%.

Mozyr Oil Refinery was commissioned in 1975. It was converted into a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 1994. The company specializes in refining oil and making and selling oil products. The products are exported to over 20 countries.
