MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) - Construction of the Great Stone Park is a breakthrough in economic cooperation between Belarus and China, Deputy Head of the President Administration Nikolai Snopkov said when speaking at the session of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental committee for cooperation, BelTA has learned.

“One of the elements of the strategic cooperation between Belarus and China is the project to build the Chinese -Belarusian Park Great Stone. The Park is the most important and exemplary joint project,” Nikolai Snopkov said. He noted that the Park is being built in a record short time and is a breakthrough in economic cooperation between the two countries. “Our goal is not to reduce but to increase the pace of the construction,” he said.

According to the Deputy Head of the President Administration, we see the establishment of a powerful bridge Asia - Great Stone Park - Europe which will move investment, financial and commodity flows complemented by technology transfer based on the development of cultural, tourist and business links. “The activity of the European capital has increased significantly. Companies with Austrian, Romanian, Bulgarian and German capital have expressed the willingness to become residents of the industrial park. The Park is an international project. It has already acquired an international status and is indeed steadily moving to become the gem of the Great Silk Road, as President Xi Jinping wished it to be, an anchor hub for financial and commodity flows between the eastern and western parts of Eurasia,” he said.

Nikolai Snopkov also pointed out that simultaneously with the development of the production sector of the Park the work is underway on relevant initiatives to build up the capacity of the Park. “We are talking about the center of innovation and commercialization and a venture fund, a logistic center of small goods, Chinese-Belarusian investment fund, Academy of the Silk Road, and an incubator for small business,” he noted.
