Chinese Xuzhou considers Belarus promising partner in Economic Belt of Silk Road

 XUZHOU, 8 May (BelTA) – The administration of the Chinese city of Xuzhou considers Belarus to be a promising partner of the project Economic Belt of the Silk Road, BelTA learned from Wang Lianyu, Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of the city of Xuzhou.

The meeting took place on the eve of the visit of China President Xi Jinping to Belarus.

Wang Lianyu said that the first contacts with Belarus were established several years ago. Now they are considering manufacturing together with enterprises of Belarusian Amkodor and Gomselmash. Taking into account the Xuzhou-Mozyr twinning agreement that will be signed this year, contacts with Belarus will become even stronger, the Head of the Foreign Affairs Office was convinced.

In his words, the Embassy of Belarus in China and the Consulate General of Belarus in Shanghai provide a vast amount of information about leading Belarusian companies and the most profitable terms for Chinese investors. By doing so, they help choose promising partners. The Xuzhou city administration intends to start manufacturing projects together with Belarus in addition to buying Belarusian products. In particular, Xuzhou would like to buy Belarusian milk. There are also plans to develop cooperation in pharmaceutics. Chinese pharmaceutical companies and medics would like to share their best practices and would like to try to start the production of medications in Belarus in addition to using Belarusian research products.
