Chelyabinsk Oblast invites Belarus to partake in setting up big foundry facility

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) - Chelyabinsk Oblast plans to set up a big foundry facility and invits Belarus to cooperate, Chelyabinsk Oblast Governor Boris Dubrovsky said as he met with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on 27 April, BelTA has learned.

The governor said that during the visit to Belarus the delegation of Chelyabinsk Oblast will hold talks with the managerial personnel of the Minsk-based company MZOR. There are plans to discuss the participation of the plant in the formation of the machine-building cluster in the Russian region. The cluster is expected to include a big foundry facility for the manufacture of frameworks for machine-building. “We invite Belarusian investors to cooperate,” Boris Dubrovsky said.

The trade turnover between Belarus and Chelyabinsk Oblast made up $314.6 million in 2014, the balance between import and export was reached. “We would like to increase the volume of mutual investments and trade. We believe that we have all tools for it,” Boris Dubrovsky stressed.

Belarusian machine-building companies traditionally import rolled metal products from Chelyabinsk Oblast. Besides, Belarus imports bulldozers and spare parts from the South Ural region. Chelyabinsk Oblast buys Belarusian equipment, including farm machines. According to the governor, Belarusian-made equipment accounts for 50% of farm vehicles used in the agricultural complex of Chelyabinsk Oblast.
