Businessmen from Saudi Arabia to visit Belarus

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – Businessmen of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are expected to visit Belarus to discuss the prospects of trade and economic cooperation. The relevant agreement was reached during a visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov to Saudi Arabia, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visit of the Belarusian delegation took place on 5-7 May. Belarusian representatives arrived in Saudi Arabia to take part in a meeting of the joint intergovernmental committee. On 6 May Valentin Rybakov met with Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers Khalid Al-Otaibi.

According to the ministry, the program of the visit included presentations of Belarus’ trade, economic and investment potential, talks between Belarusian businessmen and Saudi partners on the export of Belarusian products, in particular engineering and food products, IT services.

“Valentin Rybakov met with the Deputy Chairman of the Main Department of Youth Development to sign a memorandum of understanding in sport between the Sports and Tourism Ministry and the Main Department of Youth Development,” the press service said.

The parties also discussed steps in the implementation of the memorandum, including issues pertaining to training camps in Belarus and Saudi Arabia, an exchange of experience in training athletes and enhancing the qualifications of the coaching staff. They also agreed to develop a sport cooperation program for 2016-2017 and organize a visit for representatives of the Main Department of Youth Development of Saudi Arabia to Belarus.
