GOMEL, 6 May (BelTA) - Representatives from 23 countries have already applied for participation in the Gomel Economic Forum which is due on 22 May, BelTA learned from the department of foreign economic relations at the Economy Committee of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

Experts say the interest of foreign partners in this event has increased. Although the forum is still more than two weeks away, almost 200 people have already applied. Judging by the experience of previous years, this number will increase substantially in the coming days.

Among those who will take part in the forum are official delegations, representatives of embassies, banks and financial institutions, businessmen from China, Germany, Austria, Italy, Turkey, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Venezuela, and Lebanon. Russia and Ukraine are expected to send representative delegations to Gomel.

Businessmen will be offered to consider more than 100 investment projects in 14 sections of the economy, including tourism, energy, agriculture, wood processing. Feasibility studies and business plans have been prepared for many projects.

The forum, which will be held for the twelfth time, has become one of the signature features of Gomel Oblast. Its main goal is to develop mutually beneficial business cooperation, and to establish long-term and viable partnerships with foreign partners. Belarus’ largest regional fair Spring In Gomel 2015 will be co-located with the forum.
