MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry have identified priority areas for cooperation in developing exchange trading between Belarus and the United Arab Emirates, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
First and foremost, the parties plan to consolidate efforts to inform the UAE business community about the opportunities offered by the Belarusian exchange platform, as well as to exchange analytical data on the commodity markets of the two countries and hold joint events on exchange-related topics. These agreements were reached during a meeting between Chairman of the BUCE Board Aleksandr Osmolovsky and a delegation of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Vice Chairman of the Fujairah Chamber Board of Directors Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Mulla. The talks took place at the BUCE headquarters in Minsk.
According to Ali Mohammed Al Mulla, to further strengthen cooperation between the UAE and Belarus in the exchange sector, it is necessary to engage Emirati businesses as actively as possible in working on the BUCE electronic platform, which will not only increase quantitative indicators such as the total value of transactions and the number of accredited companies but also elevate exchange trading between the countries to a new level.
“The key mission of our chamber of commerce and industry is to build bridges between the business communities of the UAE and other countries, so we are ready to assist in resolving all issues related to Emirati companies entering the Belarusian exchange. I am convinced that our cooperation will bear its first fruits in the very near future and will create favorable conditions for realizing the foreign trade potential of the UAE and Belarus,” the representative of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry remarked.
For his part, Aleksandr Osmolovsky highlighted the UAE’s strategic importance for developing exchange trading with member countries of the League of Arab States, and proposed a broader approach that would not be limited to the Emirati market. This, he said, would make it possible not only to increase mutual exchange turnover but also to develop trade with other Arab countries.
“Since the head of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also the Arab Parliament speaker, we would be grateful for assistance in establishing contacts with businesses in all countries belonging to the League of Arab States. I can guarantee that every new Arab company accredited on our platform will receive unimpeded access to the entire commodity market of Belarus, and we will provide full support in trading, from placing a bid to concluding a transaction,” the chairman of the BUCE Board emphasized.
As of 11 September 2026, 93 companies from nine Arab countries were accredited on BUCE, including 53 companies from the UAE. Over the first eight months of 2026, the total value of exchange transactions concluded by business entities from Arab states increased 2.8 times. The key drivers of growth were export supplies of Belarusian dairy products and lumber.
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004, with the first trading session held in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market. The exchange sells metal products, timber products, agricultural products, and a wide range of industrial and consumer goods.
