BUCE to facilitate export of Belarusian construction materials to Hungary

BUCE to facilitate export of Belarusian construction materials to Hungary

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) may take care of the export of Belarusian construction materials in Hungary, BelTA has learned.

A Belarusian delegation visited Budapest on 3-6 June. The delegation included representatives of the Architecture and Construction Ministry, the holding company Belstroitsentr, the managing company of the holding company Belarusian Cement Company, the construction materials company Beryozastroymaterialy, and the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. The possibility of exporting Belarusian construction materials to Hungary via the commodity exchange is under consideration.

According to the head of the Belarusian delegation, Deputy Architecture and Construction Minister Oleg Shvets, the digital trade platform can ensure maximum transparency of the trade process and simplify the work of Belarusian exporters on the Hungarian market.

Belarusian construction industry companies already have the positive experience of selling their products via the commodity exchange to the Baltic states, Ukraine, and Russia. The deputy architecture and construction minister is convinced that this way of working will spark the interest of Hungarian partners because exchange trade reduces commercial risks in addition to enabling conditions for competitive pricing.

One of the ways to export Belarusian construction materials to the Hungarian market would be getting an exchange broker accredited in Hungary. The exchange broker would then make deals upon orders of Hungarian companies, ensure quality control, and come up with optimal logistics schemes.

According to BUCE Deputy Chairwoman of the Board Irina Narkevich, the Belarusian-Hungarian joint venture Belmastroi is being considered as the primary candidate for the position of the exchange broker. The company is a member of the national federation of construction contractors of Hungary. The company knows well peculiarities of the local market and has a substantial number of clients. Many problems would be resolved by working via the broker, Irina Narkevich noted.

While in Hungary the Belarusian delegation held negotiations with top officials of key government agencies, which oversee the development of the civil engineering industry, and took part in a business forum on selling construction materials and services. The forum took place in the Embassy of Belarus in Hungary.
