MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Brazil is studying the possibility of establishing an Embraer maintenance center in Belarus, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Brazil Fernando Giacobbo said before a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko, BelTA has learned.

"I have no doubt that the two countries have great potential for cooperation in industry, and this issue is already under consideration by the Brazilian company," Fernando Giacobbo noted. Vitaly Busko, a member of the House of Representatives, noted that the matter is about the maintenance center for aircraft that Belarus buys from Brazil. But in the long term the project may evolve into an assembly facility.

According to Fernando Giacobbo, increasing the bilateral trade and developing cooperation in technology exchange are very important and are of interest to both sides.

In turn, Nilson Leitao, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Brazilian National Congress, drew attention to the importance of cooperation in agriculture. He recalled that Brazil buys Belarus potash fertilizers. According to him, Brazil will actively develop the relations in other areas. "During the visit, we visited many Belarusian enterprises, including the producers of dump trucks and tractors. These sectors are of interest to us. We would also like Belarus to buy the things that we produce. For example, our meat," he said.
