MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – In 2025, the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC) began processing domestically sourced wheat grain, BNBC Director General Sergei Lozhechnik told a BelTA correspondent.
He highlighted that a key achievement for 2025 was the establishment of cooperation with domestic agricultural producers for the supply of wheat grain for processing. Raw materials of the required quality were procured from Brest Oblast, Grodno Oblast, and Minsk Oblast during the year. This marked a significant shift, as supplies had previously been sourced from several regions in Russia.
“The year 2025 was challenging for us, but stable. We managed to resolve many issues, including those related to supplies of raw materials,” said Sergei Lozhechnik. “This year, we secured half of the required quality wheat grain from Belarusian producers, working successfully with our agricultural partners. Our biotechnology production is running at full capacity, and agro-industrial output is gaining momentum. We have largely resolved the issue of domestic grain supply, and Belarusian agricultural producers have responded positively; they are also interested in this. Most importantly, this demonstrates that this can be done in our country. To this end, we engaged the National Academy of Sciences, which developed the agronomic recommendations for producing this grain. I would also like to note that in 2025, our partner portfolio has expanded to include leading agricultural producers who are currently purchasing our products.”
BNBC plans to expand production further. The company is set to begin implementing a project to build plants to manufacture an expanded range of amino acids (currently, the company produces three types in four forms), as well as other products.
