GOMEL, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarusian oil producers reached the production mark of two million tonnes of oil in 2025 on 29 December, Belorusneft told BelTA.
According to the company, this level of annual hydrocarbon production was last achieved three decades ago. The record was registered by the Integrated Operations Center of the Rechitsaneft Oil and Gas Production Department (OGPD), which also coordinates the work of the unique Digital Field intelligent system.
Rechitsaneft Head Aleksandr Tsybrankov emphasized the key role of modern technologies in reaching the two-million-tonne milestone. He stated that the integrated development of hydrocarbon reserves would lead to even greater accomplishments.
“In 1975, the company reached its peak annual oil production of approximately 8 million tonnes. Subsequently, due to limited reserves and other objective factors, this level declined for decades. It was only in 2017 that we began to gradually increase production. This is entirely thanks to advanced technologies and the smart approach of our specialists,” said Aleksandr Tsybrankov.
“Two million tonnes is, of course, an important, landmark event not only for our company, but, I believe, for the entire country,” he added.
Aleksandr Tsybrankov noted that the company has been steadily increasing production over the past several years. “We have reached two million tonnes. This was made possible, of course, by a series of significant events, important decisions, and a comprehensive approach across the entire production chain: from searching for new deposits to exploring mature fields and developing unconventional reserves. It involves a major complex of technical, technological, and engineering work, technical re-equipment, and the introduction of new technological and technical solutions, both world-class and our own developments. And, of course, digitalization,” explained the Rechitsaneft head.
“Two million tonnes is an important milestone and a step forward. We face a large scope of work to ensure our country’s energy security,” concluded Aleksandr Tsybrankov.
The Belorusneft Production Association was established in 1966. The company searches for, explores, and develops oil fields, drills wells, and produces oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus, and also operates in the oil sectors of other countries.
