Bellesbumprom’s export of wood boards to non-CIS countries up 6.7 times in January-November 2015

MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – In January-November 2015 the timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom exported wood boards to non-CIS countries to the tune of $12.2 million, which was up 6.7 times from the same period a year earlier, spokeswoman for Bellesbumprom Ruzhena Novitskaya told BelTA.

Belarusian manufacturers affiliated with Bellesbumprom Concern exported $24,700 worth of wood particle boards to non-CIS countries in January-November 2014. In the same period 2015 the deliveries amounted to $4.6 million. The export of fiberboards was $1.8 million in 2014 and almost $7.6 million last year,” Ruzhena Novitskaya said.

Growth in the export of wood particle boards came mainly on the heels of the increase in the shipments to Poland ($3.6 million), Lithuania ($476,300) and Germany ($392,400). In addition, Belarusian manufacturers launched export of wood particle boards to the Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary, Latvia and other countries.

With regard to fiberboards, the export growth came as Belarusian manufacturers started deliveries to Iran ($2.8 million) and boosted shipments to Poland ($1.4 million), Lithuania ($1.26 million) and a number of other European states. In 2015 Belarus started supplying fiberboards to Afghanistan, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria and other countries.

"Today the companies are signing new contracts which provide for an increase in the amount of products to be shipped to the markets of the non-CIS countries,” Ruzhena Novitskaya noted.
