Bellesbumprom exports up 5% in Q1 2020

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Companies affiliated with the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom exported products worth $146.9 million in Q1 2020. This is up 5% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of Bellesbumprom.

Non-CIS countries accounted for 50.5% of the exports. The growth in monetary terms made up 4.9%. Products worth $72.7 million were shipped to the CIS countries (5.1% up from Q1 2019). In January-March 2020 the largest markets for Bellesbumprom companies included Russia, which bought $44.4 million worth of products, Poland ($23.2 million), China (almost $15.9 million), Ukraine (almost $15.6 million) and Lithuania ($9.6 million). Bellesbumprom companies sold to 56 countries.

Wood boards account for the biggest share in exports (23.9%). Then goes furniture (20.9%), cellulose (16.1%), plywood (12.7%), paper and cardboard (12.2%). In total, there are more than 80 commodity items in the Bellesbumprom export structure.
