BelCCI, Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies to step up business ties

 MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yelena Malinovskaya has held a meeting with a delegation of the Greater Eastern Europe Business Alliance and the Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries, representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) told BelTA.

Yelena Malinovskaya presented information about leading branches of the Belarusian economy. She underlined accomplishments of the Belarusian manufacturing sector and existing opportunities for cooperation in foreign trade. Detailed information was presented about the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s efforts to promote international business ties, including enabling the participation of Belarusian companies in expos in Hong Kong.

“We invite you to think about organizing an exhibition of the economic potential of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Belarus at premises of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to provide the necessary assistance with that to your business,” the BelCCI deputy chairwoman stressed as she handed over the relevant detailed proposals to the foreign delegation.

The head of the Hong Kong delegation, head of the Greater Eastern Europe Business Alliance William Yim remarked upon significant prospects for cooperation with Belarus, including in investments. He expressed interest in establishing contacts with Belarusian enterprises, which are ready to act as distributors of Hong Kong products. He mentioned the readiness to assist with selling Belarusian goods in Hong Kong. In his words, due to the favorable geographical location Belarus can serve as a convenient channel for Hong Kong exporters to reach markets of other post-Soviet countries.

William Yim mentioned the intention to consider the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s proposals and invited Belarusian businesses to more broadly participate in domain-specific expos in the region.

The Greater Eastern Europe Business Alliance offers a platform to the business circles of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, which are interested in cooperation with Belarus. The alliance puts efforts into bringing Hong Kong business to markets of the Eurasian Economic Union and Eastern Europe. The Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries is one of the largest field-specific associations of the region. It unites 37 associations and institutions that represent over 6,000 high-tech companies operating in such fields as electronics, mechanical engineering, instrument making, and other innovative manufacturing sector branches.
