MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Companies from the UAE have shown strong interest in investing in Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Denis Meleshkin said during his meeting with Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamis bin Ali Al Dhaheri at the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi, BelCCI’s press service told BelTA.

Denis Meleshkin emphasized that Belarus was invited to participate in the AIM Congress for the first time this year. This demonstrates the growing international interest in the country’s investment opportunities. "At this Congress Belarus is showcasing its Made In Belarus national exhibition, presenting its investment, trade, economic and IT potential," he noted.

Denis Meleshkin pointed out the significant growth in investments from the UAE in Belarus. In January–September 2024, direct foreign investments from the UAE increased 3.8 times year-on-year. "This reflects the great interest of UAE companies in investing in Belarus. Our meeting is vital and timely for further expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between our countries," Denis Meleshkin stated.

He invited an Abu Dhabi business delegation to attend key exhibitions in Belarus in 2025: INNOPROM. Belarus, Belagro, and the AI Country forum. He also proposed holding negotiations with organizations responsible for attracting investments in Belarus (the National Agency of Investment and Privatization and the Economy Ministry).

"Arriving in the UAE were also representatives of Belarusian businesses: top managers of logistics companies, FEZ administrations, directors of major IT companies and investment consulting companies. They are also holding meetings on the sidelines of the Congress, participating in panel discussions and roundtables," Denis Meleshkin added.

The parties also discussed the cooperation agreement signed in July 2024, specific measures to strengthen business ties and support of joint projects in various areas.
