BelAZ to ship $3m worth of haul trucks to Mongolia

MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ plans to ship three haul trucks worth nearly $3 million for a Mongolian company before the end of the year, BelTA learned from First Deputy Director of the Marketing Center of BelAZ Vasily Shostak.

BelAZ was visited by a delegation of Molgolia’s Erdenet Mining Corporation. The visit resulted in a signing of an agreement on cooperation in maintenance and further supplies. “The parties agreed on a strategic partnership which also covers some organizational issues regarding vehicle maintenance. The agreement was reached to supply the Mongolian company with three haul trucks with the payload capacity of 130 tonnes worth about $3 million by the end of the year,” Vasily Shostak said.

Erdenet Mining Corporation is one of the biggest ore mining and ore processing factory in Asia. It is a long-time partner of the Belarusian manufacturer. The fleet of vehicles of the Mongolian company consists mainly of BelAZ haul trucks with the payload capacity of 30, 45, 55 and 130 tonnes and also special-purpose mining equipment.

In H1 2017 BelAZ supplied vehicles to 24 countries. The export to Russia rose by 32.7%, to other CIS countries by 41.2%, to non-CIS countries by 63.6%. As for non-CIS markets the biggest deliveries were made to Zimbabwe, Morocco, Angola, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
