MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – BelAZ will supply 70 dump trucks to Kuzbass, Russia, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said during the visit to OAO Integral, the managing company of the holding company Integral, on 1 February, BelTA has learned.
"On behalf of the President, I supervise the issues related to the performance of BelAZ. Judging by the sale of mining equipment, we can see that the global economy is starting to revive. Just recently we have won a tender, and will soon sign a contract to supply 40 110-tonne BelAZ dump trucks to Indonesia. The country mines ore and coal. If there is a demand for dump trucks, it means there is a demand for coal. In addition, the contract is in the works to supply 70 BelAZ dump trucks to Russia’s Kuzbass,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
"Steelmakers are suffering huge losses. Prices have fallen on the back of reduced consumption. But I am sure that this is temporary. The economy cannot remain in such a repressed situation for long. The demand for quarry machinery confirms this,” he said.
The Zhodino-based Belarusian Autoworks (BelAZ trademark) was founded in September 1948. In 2010 BelAZ was reincorporated into a public joint stock company (OAO). In September 2012 BelAZ became the managing company of BelAZ Holding Company. BelAZ is the world’s top manufacturer of mine dump trucks with a large carrying capacity and an extremely large carrying capacity as well as other heavy transport equipment used in the mining industry and the civil engineering industry.
