Belavia launches mobile app for flight tickets, check-in

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian air carrier Belavia has launched a mobile app ticket flights and check-in, BelTA learned from the airline’s website.

“To get a flight ticket, the user needs to fill in data about the city of departure, the city of arrival, departure dates and the number of passengers. The system will provide results corresponding to the specified criteria, and the user will be able to choose a suitable flight from those available. After selecting the rate and cost of the flight, the app user needs to enter data and contact information about the passengers, and then proceed to the payment phase. After the successful purchase of a ticket or tickets, the user will receive an e-mail confirming the payment to the specified e-mail address,” the airline said.

The mobile app also makes it possible to check-in online, which greatly speeds up the check-in process at the airport. It should be done no earlier than 24 hours and no later than 2 hours before departure time. For the most of regular flights in the Belavia route network app users can get mobile boarding passes with QR codes.

The application has been developed by the EPAM employees as part of a hackathon. The new mobile service can be downloaded from AppStore and Google Play. Yet, it is a basic version, and plans are in place to increase the number of available functions in the future. They will include the ability to scan a passport for quick entry of passenger data, access to the personal account of the Belavia Leader loyalty program member and others.
