Belarusian tractor maker MTZ presents latest products at Moscow expo

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ has presented its latest products at the international agricultural machinery expo Agrosalon 2020, which is scheduled to take place in Moscow on 6-9 October, the MTZ press service told BelTA.

There are six models on display as part of MTZ’s exposition. Their engine capacity varies from 9hp to 450hp. They are designed for the Russian market. Each has been upgraded to a degree. “We hear and take into account opinions of customers as we improve our models to meet their wishes,” MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk said. For instance, the most powerful tractor in the lineup is MTZ-4522, which is now fitted with wide cross-section tires in order to handle an increased load. The model is going through certification tests now.

The MTZ-1025.4 tractor is now equipped with a Cummins engine of Russian make. The tractor was initially powered by an engine made by Belarusian MMZ. “But we went ahead and installed a more sophisticated and more powerful engine. In addition to upgrading the model we’ve increased its localization degree, which is important for sales on the Russian market. Apart from that, we’ve demonstrated we can install the engines that customers prefer,” MTZ Chief Designer Andrei Stasilevich noted.

The MTZ-2022.4 tractor is also powered by a Cummins engine. This model’s front axle has been enhanced with larger wheels. The model now also boasts a driver’s cab with an improved field of view, a climate control system, a pneumatic seat, power mirrors, and a multimedia system. The engine compartment is fitted with a cooling system for any climatic conditions.

The legendary tractor model MTZ-82.3 has been greatly reworked. It is now powered by a Stage 2 compliant engine and a muffler mounted on the driver’s cab’s post. Its transmission now implements a hydraulic system that controls the front axle’s power takeoff drive shaft. The new feature made the tractor and this component more reliable. The old lever controls have been replaced with button-based ones to offer more convenient driving experience to the operator. The driver’s cab is fitted with a welded front wall and glued glass components to make it sturdier and more hermetically sealed. The standard features include a comfortable seat and an air conditioner.

Work is in progress to start batch production of the upgraded model. After minor quirks are polished, serial production will begin. It is likely to happen in Q1 2021.

The MTZ-1222.3 model has replaced the popular 130hp MTZ-1221 model. The new model combines the best qualities of its predecessor and a number of new engineering design solutions and components. A new comfortable cab with panoramic windows is the key novelty. The batch production of the new tractor began in September.

The compact tractor MTZ-132MT is an upgrade of the popular MTZ-152 model. The driver’s controls have been redesigned and the tractor now uses a Kohler diesel engine instead of a gasoline one. The new engine is certified for compliance with the European Union’s Stage V emissions standard. While more expensive initially, the diesel engine boasts lower operational costs.

Agrosalon is Russia’s top venue for demonstrating innovative technological solutions for agribusiness. It is organized by agricultural machinery industry associations of Russia and Germany – Rosspetsmash and VDMA Landtechnik. It is held every two years.
