MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Some products of the Belarusian steel mill BMZ have been exported to Poland via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), the BUCE press service told BelTA.

As much as 2,000 tonnes of steel reinforcing bars made by BMZ and worth €731,000 was sold to Poland in two trade sessions (in December and January).

The trade sessions were arranged for the sake of increasing the volume and effectiveness of the export of Belarusian metal products to Poland. Major Polish consumers of these products were invited to participate in the trade sessions in order to enable a competitive environment.

The results indicate that Polish companies are interested in buying Belarusian reinforcing bars. The volume of BMZ products sold via BUCE to Poland is expected to grow. Trade sessions will be organized every Thursday to match the growing interest of buyers.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BMZ, the managing company of the holding company BMC, is a high-tech Belarusian metallurgical enterprise. It comprises infrastructure shops and four manufacturing divisions that focus on steel smelting, mill products, pipe products, and hardware items. BMZ exports more than 80% of its output every year.
