Belarusian state-run retailer Belkoopsoyuz offers Ukraine new products

Belarusian state-run retailer Belkoopsoyuz offers Ukraine new products

ZHITOMIR, 3 October (BelTA) – Enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian state-run retailer and food producer Belkoopsoyuz offer to supply some 25 types of products to Ukraine, Belkoopsoyuz Chairman of the Board Valery Ivanov told journalists during the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine in Zhitomir on 3 October, BelTA has learned.

Belkoopsoyuz traditionally cooperates with Ukraine in various fields. The cooperation with Ukrainian partners has intensified in the last three years. “We actively work with several regions of Ukraine, exporting and importing products. This work offers good prospects as Ukrainian partners have started to show more interest in cooperation with us recently,” he said.

Valery Ivanov called supplies of Belarusian potatoes to Ukraine a good example of cooperation. Enterprises of Belkoopsoyuz alone have already supplied 2,000 tonnes of potatoes in 2019.

“We are currently working to establish interregional relations with Ukraine’s Zhitomir Oblast and Chernihiv Oblast. We held interesting meetings on cooperation with the bordering regions yesterday. Today we are set to meet with the local administration of the union of consumer societies of Zhitomir Oblast. Such cooperation is quite promising and we will try to step it up,” Valery Ivanov said.

During the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine, Belkoopsoyuz will also sign contracts to ship Belarusian products to Ukraine, Valery Ivanov added. “Of course, we will import from Ukraine those products which are not usually produced in Belarus, like sunflower oil, some grains. We have offered to supply a wide range of around 25 products which have already attracted interest from Ukrainian partners,” he said.
