MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) - More than 60 innovative solutions and technologies for agriculture are presented by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) at an exhibition in Uzbekistan, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.

The NASB Scientific and Practical Center for Foodstauffs is showcasing a series of food products for different groups of the population. Among the latest novelties is vegetable marmalade. This product line includes marmalade made of sweet corn, red carrots, ripe pumpkin, juicy tomato and spicy celery. “The marmalade contains prebiotics and has no artificial dyestuffs. Our scientists have also developed breakfast cereals and food concentrates for diet nutrition enriched with vitamins and dietary fiber.  Among them are corn sticks with flax seeds, children's products with high nutritional and biological value enriched with minerals and vitamins, with dietary fibers,” the press service noted.

The Institute of Meat and Dairy Industry has presented powder starters for the dairy industry and home use, and also dry blends for ice cream. The Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry is showing complex mineral fertilizers with a balanced ratio of nutrients for cultivated crops. Macro, micro-nutrients, growth regulators are included in one pellet with the optimal ratio of elements for a particular crop. Belarusian scientists have also developed a number of liquid complex forms of chelate micro-fertilizers (copper, manganese, zinc, cobalt, boric, molybdenum). In addition to micro-nutrients, liquid complex fertilizers contain growth regulators that increase their efficiency and that distinguish them from other similar forms of micro-fertilizers.

The NASB Scientific and Practical Center for Potato Farming and Fruit Production has brought to Tashkent new varieties of potatoes resistant to a range of diseases. The Vyshelessky Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine has presented the vaccines for prevention and treatment of viral and bacterial diseases of farm animals. Scientists at the NASB Center for Identification Systems and Electronic Business Operations are presenting digital identification and traceability technologies for animals and animal products.

The exhibition in Tashkent is running on 25-26 February on the sidelines of the Belarus-Uzbekistan agricultural forum. The event is held under the patronage of Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Dvornik. The main goal is to implement the road map for the development of cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan.
