MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Belarus will take part in the multi-industry exhibition Expo Pakistan, which is due to take place in Karachi on 9-12 November, BelTA learned from Belinterexpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
An exposition Made in Belarus will be organized at Expo Pakistan. The Belarusian exposition will showcase the products of the Minsk Automobile Plant, the management company of Belavtomaz Holding Company, Amkodor, and Bobruiskagromash.
Expo Pakistan is the largest exhibition of Pakistan. In 2015 it featured 500 local companies and more than 700 exhibitors from 77 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Vietnam, Germany, China, India, Malaysia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan.
The growing market of Pakistan with a population of almost 200 million is interested in virtually all goods that Belarusian enterprises produce: from food to road-building machinery. Of particular interest is agricultural machinery. The agricultural sector of Pakistan, which generates a quarter of the local GDP, employs more than 40% of the population.
Belarus’ major exports to Pakistan include tractors, trucks, potash fertilizers, synthetic fibers, tires, baby food. Last year the trade made up $63.8 million (up by 13%). The two countries aim for $1 billion in bilateral trade.
