Belarusian national electrical company, Siemens sign strategic partnership agreement

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian national electrical company Belenergo and Siemens Company signed an agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation during the Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum in Minsk on 11 October, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by OOO Siemens Technologies Director General Maxim Zubov and Belenergo First Deputy Director General, Chief Engineer Alexander Sivak.

Belenergo and Siemens intend to work together to generate, transfer and distribute electrical and heat energy. The priority avenues of cooperation include the construction and modernization of cogeneration plants, efforts to secure the reliable operation of the power grid, and the possibility of buying modern Siemens equipment for Belenergo installations. The sides will also work together in the area of renewable energy. In the near future the partners will set up a working group to take care of localizing services and financing projects.

Commenting on the signed agreement, OOO Siemens Technologies Director General Maxim Zubov noted: “Cooperation with such a large energy company like Belenergo is of strategic importance for us. We are confident that modern technologies and solutions at Belenergo installations will bolster the competitive ability of investment projects and will contribute to the higher effectiveness of the industry as a whole.”

Siemens AG is a German transnational company that specializes in electric technology, electronics, power engineering equipment, transportation solutions, medical equipment and lighting solutions as well as services in various branches of the production sector, transport and communication. The company has headquarters in Berlin and Munich.
