Belarusian MTZ to make more tractors for precision farming

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor maker MTZ will increase the production of tractors designed for precision farming, BelTA learned from MTZ CEO Fyodor Domotenko on 28 February.

According to the source, the share of innovative products in the output of the Belarusian tractor maker exceeds 20% and continues rising. The new tractor model Belarus 82.1 with an American precision farming system did well during the tractor biathlon held on 24 February. “These machines will sell well in Russia where the Belarus 82 model is widely represented. It is a sophisticated piece of equipment, yet it does not require any special skills on the part of the driver. All the tractors sold domestically with the engine output of 350hp and upwards are fitted with this system already. We are now thinking about adding a precision farming system to 300hp tractors. The system works smoothly. We don’t see any problems with deploying it,” said Fyodor Domotenko.

The new tractor model is designed for agricultural operations using mounted, semi-mounted and trailed tools. It can also be used for simple transportation. The model boasts an improved outlook, an air conditioner, and a stereo sound system. It will be offered to municipal services providers, too.

Summing up results of the international conference held for MTZ distribution chain companies, Fyodor Domotenko noted that decisions had been made to step up work to promote the entire range of vehicles, including in Russia. “We’ve discussed the problem of accounts receivable. We are not satisfied with it right now, this is why we’ve set out to fix things. We are on track as far as profits, profitability, and salaries are concerned. The ratio of labor productivity to salary growth is above one,” he added.
