Belarusian Mogotex to design special clothes for Zambian Air Force

Belarusian Mogotex to design special clothes for Zambian Air Force

MOGILEV, 14 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian manufacturer of textile products Mogotex is expanding its export market and intends to sell textile products to Southern Africa, Mogotex representatives told BelTA.

The company has reached an agreement on making special clothes for the Zambian Air Force. A Zambian military delegation visited Mogotex in December 2018. Mogotex specialists visited the main base of the Air Force and Logistics Command of Zambia in January 2019. Mogotex specialists are now busy designing field uniforms, making samples of trousers, raincoats, and high-visibility vests. In March-April 2019 representatives of the Zambian Air Force will be able to test the special clothes made by the Belarusian company in order to evaluate the quality. After that the samples will be sent for approval of the commanding officer of the Zambian Air Force.

Mogotex Director General Viktor Matiyevich said: “We have great chances of sales in this region. To the Zambian Air Force we’ve offered uniforms made of the best special materials: acid-resistant, water-proof, fire-resistant, antistatic fabrics. By exporting products to Zambia, we intend to promote and sell our products to neighboring countries: Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and other ones.”

Zambia is a very promising and capacious market. The country is home to about 17 million people. The country is also interested in special clothes and uniforms for other power-wielding agencies: the Defense Ministry, firefighters, and police. “We are now working hard to diversify target markets and our presence on the African market testifies to that. At present fabric export accounts for 84% of the company’s total sales. Our products are exported to 15 countries across the globe,” Viktor Matiyevich stressed.

Mogotex was founded in 1973 and reincorporated as a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 2000. It is one of the largest manufacturers of textile products in Belarus and the CIS states. The company offers fabrics for special clothes and uniforms, raincoat fabrics along with garment-lining fabrics, ready-made overalls, and home textile products. All the products are tested in the company’s own lab.
