Belarusian MMZ eager to sign over $4m worth of contracts in Uzbekistan

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Subbotin is participating in a session of the Belarus-Uzbekistan intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation. Aleksandr Rogozhnik, Director General of the Minsk-based engine manufacturer MMZ, is part of the delegation, the MMZ press service told BelTA.

Heads of the industrial enterprises BelAZ, MAZ, Amkodor, MTZ, Gomselmash, Bobruiskagromash, and Mogilevliftmash also went to Tashkent as part of a delegation led by Industry Minister Piotr Parkhomchik.

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing a session of the Belarus-Uzbekistan business council and bilateral business talks with potential partners. Ways to expand trade and economic cooperation will be considered. MMZ intends to sign contracts worth over $4 million as part of the visit.

According to February data, MMZ’s distribution chain in Tashkent is represented by the companies Buran-Savdo, Sigma Industrial Marketing, Future Generation Marketing. In 2019-2020 MMZ sold over 1,000 engines on the primary market and the aftermarket of Uzbekistan.

Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ trademark) makes modern diesel engines, gas and diesel engines, and gas reciprocating engines. The company specializes in developing, designing, and making modern three-, four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines. The company offers over 100 modifications of engines with their output varying from 7 to 330kW. They are designed to power agricultural machines, road construction machines, forestry vehicles, automobiles, buses, power supply plants, compressors, and other kinds of machinery. MMZ engines are shipped to conveyor belts of 49 enterprises in Belarus, Russia, CIS, and non-CIS states. The products are sold in more than 40 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and Latin America. Components of internationally recognized manufacturers are used to make MMZ engines.
