Belarusian Gomselmash to ship 100 grain harvester assembly kits to Russia’s Altai Territory in 2016

GOMEL, 14 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian manufacturer of agricultural machines Gomselmash will ship 100 kits to assemble grain harvesters to Russia’s Altai Territory in 2016, BelTA learned from Yevgeny Konchits, Head of the company’s Office for Eastern Russia Sales.

The relevant agreement was reached when a Gomselmash delegation visited Altai Territory. According to the source, during the talks the sides confirmed their intention to develop cooperation, which has a history of its own. The agricultural machines factory in the village of Lenki, Blagoveshchensk District started assembling Belarusian grain harvesters Palesse GS12 and Palesse GS812 in 2011. The assembled machines are successfully used by local farmers.

Now this cooperation will be spurred by another impulse. During the meeting with the Altai Territory governor the sides decided to increase the localization of the Belarusian harvesters assembly project up to 30%. In particular, the harvesters will be fitted with 330hp and 250hp diesel engines made by the Altai engine factory as well as tires made by the Altai tire factory. Apart from that, work is progress to prepare design documents for the sake of making some other parts and components in Altai Territory.

The project’s implementation will bolster manufacturing cooperation ties with Russian enterprises, Yevgeny Konchits was convinced. First, Gomselmash does not make any engines or tires and always buys them from other manufacturers. Second, both sides will be interested in making high-quality machines jointly. Third, more mechanisms to support joint manufacturing through the region’s agriculture and industry development programs will be available.

The industrial group Gomselmash was founded on the basis of the Gomselmash factory that was established in 1930. As a major manufacturer of agricultural machines in the CIS states and Europe, Gomselmash offers self-propelled and trailed forage harvesters and crushing mowing machines, grain harvesters, mounted mowers, potato and beet harvesters. The company makes over 40 basic models of various kinds of agricultural machines.
