Belarusian Finance Ministry discussing new borrowing tools with Chinese banks

MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian Finance Ministry is discussing the possibility of using new borrowing tools with Chinese banks. The matters were discussed as Belarusian First Deputy Finance Minister Andrei Belkovets met with representatives of the Export-Import Bank of China and the China Development Bank in Beijing, BelTA has learned.

Representatives of the Belarusian embassy in China told BelTA the sides discussed promising avenues for advancing cooperation, the possibility of using new sovereign borrowing tools.

Apart from that, Belarusian diplomats continued a series of events to present in China and Japan the opportunities and exclusive business conditions available to resident companies in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.

At an investment cooperation forum in Beijing the first deputy head of the industrial park administration Igor Leshchenok, Counsellor of the Embassy of Belarus in China Valentin Bobrovich, the official representative of the State Customs Committee of Belarus in the embassy Dmitry Kovalenok presented Belarus’ investment climate and capabilities of the park. Representatives of over 40 Chinese companies were present during the event.

A meeting along the same lines took place in the Japanese city of Fukuoka. Over 50 representatives of Japanese companies came to participate in an investment seminar and learn more about the economic potential of Belarus and Minsk Oblast, and about conditions for doing business in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.

Ambassador of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy acted as a moderator of the panel discussion, which focused on attracting new resident companies from Japan to the park. Exclusive business operation conditions of the park were mentioned as well as an opportunity to participate in the international regional forum, which is due to take place in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 2 July 2019.
