TASHKENT, 25 April (BelTA) – Contracts to the tune of $25 million were signed as a result of the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Tashkent. Most of the contracts focus on mechanical engineering, BelTA learned from Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko on 25 April.

Roman Golovchenko said: “Commercial contracts worth over $25 million have been signed as a result of the delegation’s visit to Tashkent. Most of them in the sphere of mechanical engineering.”

Roman Golovchenko remarked that Uzbekistan has a good technological potential. Apart from that, China and South Korea with a good mechanical engineering industry are nearby. “This is why it is quite difficult for us to compete in the standard goods market niche. But their approach is very good. For instance, Uzbek partners use MAZ chassis to install various things to make fire trucks, tank trucks to transport water, oil products, and so on. It is a good niche, it has invoked strong interest. I think we will increase the volume of cooperation by shipping, for instance, chassis for making fully assembled vehicles in Uzbekistan,” the prime minister added.
