Belarusian construction companies ready to implement projects in the Philippines

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarusian construction companies are ready to conduct projects in the Philippines, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he received credentials from Ambassador of the Philippines to Belarus Carlos D. Sorreta on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“On 22 May, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations with the Philippines. We hope that the next several decades will be marked by more active cooperation in politics, trade and economy. Belarusian companies are ready to take part in the construction of industrial plants, infrastructure and power-generating facilities in the Philippines,” the Belarusian leader said.

Carlos D. Sorreta assured Alexander Lukashenko that he will make every effort to promote the relations between the two countries. The diplomat pointed out that he enjoys his time in Minsk and has already had an opportunity to test the high quality of Belarusian goods. For instance, his wife bought him a watch of a popular Belarusian brand.

On 6 June, Alexander Lukashenko also received credentials from Australian Ambassador Peter Martin Tesch. The Belarusian head of state noted that the two countries should tap into their immense cooperation potential to boost relations. “We are grateful to the government of this country for its eagerness to support us in matters related to the WTO accession. I am confident that these positive intentions will bolster our bilateral trade,” the Belarusian leader said.
