Belarusian companies contract to sell products to Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Territory

MOSCOW, 19 May (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko visited Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Territory on 18-19 May. During the visit representatives of Belarusian companies signed agreements and contracts on selling their merchandise, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.

Members of the Belarusian delegation met with representatives of the Krasnoyarsk city administration on 18 May. Representatives of the city enterprises, which are interested in cooperation with Belarusian colleagues, were present during the meeting. Alexander Tsaplin, Deputy Head of the Social and Economic Development Department of the Krasnoyarsk city administration, said during the meeting: “Our common goal is to establish contacts with Belarusian businessmen. The promising avenues of cooperation include sales of various kinds of goods to Krasnoyarsk ranging from trolleybuses, buses and ending with food.”

A roundtable session and a business matchmaking session were arranged the same day in association with the Central Siberia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. As a result of the events three agreements on cooperation were signed, in particular, with the Belarusian national science and practice center for oncology and medical radiology, the holding company BelAZ, and OAO Gomelagrokomplekt.

On 19 May members of the Belarusian delegation met with Krasnoyarsk Territory Governor Viktor Tolokonsky. Contracts and agreements were signed with municipal units, enterprises, and institutions of Krasnoyarsk Territory for the sake of bolstering cooperation in various branches of economy and social sector. In particular, an agreement was signed between the cities of Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Territory and Polotsk, Vitebsk Oblast. The sides will advance friendly and partnering long-term relations in the production sector, entrepreneurship activities, trade, agriculture, science, education and arts, healthcare and ecology, transport development, investment and innovation efforts.

Partnership agreements were signed between the Belarusian mechanical engineering company BelAZ and Krasnoyarsk Territory enterprises for the sake of selling BelAZ vehicles. Apart from that, an agreement on selling agricultural machines to Krasnoyarsk Territory was signed as well as an agreement on cooperation in the development of medical and scientific efforts for providing oncological aid.

Speaking about the documents that were signed, Krasnoyarsk Territory Governor Viktor Tolokonsky noted that cooperation with Belarus was important for the Krasnoyarsk Territory economy. “We are interested in the development of our basic industries, in the acquisition of many kinds of vehicles and equipment for industrial purposes and the development of agriculture, the municipal infrastructure,” he stated. “There is no doubt that the Republic of Belarus is competitive at making such products. We are also interested in cooperation with our colleagues in civil engineering, healthcare, and forestry industry.”

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko remarked that the signed documents would allow multiplying Belarus’ trade with Krasnoyarsk Territory several times over in the next few years. “Our cooperation is beneficial for both sides, this is why we should work to achieve common goals,” noted Vladimir Semashko. “The Krasnoyarsk enterprises I’ve been able to see were a pleasant surprise for me. On the whole, there were no complaints about Belarusian vehicles and equipment. It is an important factor for our consequent interaction in the outlined areas.”

The Belarusian delegation included representatives of the Industry Ministry, the Architecture and Construction Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and heads of major industrial enterprises.
