MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian national telecom operator Beltelecom and the company China Telecom BLR affiliated with China Telecom Group have signed a cooperation agreement, BelTA learned from Beltelecom’s official website.

The deal was sealed during the talks between Belarus’ First Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Dmitry Shedko and China’s Deputy Industry and Information Technology Minister Liu Lihua at the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry.

The sides discussed the topical matters of Belarus-China cooperation in communications and informatization, namely the ways to expand cooperation between the Belarusian and Chinese telecom operators, help pass mobile and internet traffic between China and Europe, approximate tariff international roaming policies, increase the localization of modern telecom equipment manufacturing in Belarus, attract foreign investment and launch joint projects in the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone.
