Belarusian Belorusneft, Oil India Limited working on three new contracts

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft and Oil India Limited Company are working on three new contracts. The matter was discussed as Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena on 21 March, BelTA has learned.

Oil India Limited and Belorusneft have become good and reliable partners, their relations are full of trust, noted Mikhail Myasnikovich. The director general of the Belarusian company Alexander Lyakhov is a member of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, cooperation will grow broader since three contracts are in the pipeline.

The head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament reminded that Belorusneft had already finished its work in the Digboi oil field in India. All the commitments were honored by both sides. A major overhaul of four oil wells is in progress now.

Belarus and India have to implement a number of important projects together. Mikhail Myasnikovich mentioned the establishment of an Indian investment climate in Orsha District, which is supposed to become a foothold for the Indian private sector in Europe.

Mikhail Myasnikovich thanked Pankaj Saxena for his fruitful work in the capacity of the Indian ambassador to Belarus. Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that among other things the diplomat’s work had helped achieve considerable accomplishments in trade, economy, humanitarian, scientific, and education relations and at international platforms. Belarus will continue assisting with the signing of a free trade agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union.

During the meeting Mikhail Myasnikovich and Pankaj Saxena also discussed the invigoration of the political dialogue between the two countries and the advancement of cooperation in pharmaceutics. So far joint efforts in this field have resulted in the establishment of the R&D complex Nativita in Beshenkovichi, Vitebsk Oblast. The construction of a pharmaceutical factory in Skidel, Grodno Oblast is nearing completion. Active work is in progress at the construction site of a similar enterprise in Minsk.
