MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has presented the world’s first haul truck with an engine that meets the European Stage 5 emissions standard, BelTA has learned.

The haul truck BelAZ-7547 with the carrying capacity of 45 tonnes was showcased during the road construction industry expo Autostrada Polska 2019, which is scheduled to take place in the Polish city of Kielce on 14-16 May.

The Belarusian truck is the world’s first haul truck with this class of engines. The new emissions standard Stage 5 is considerably stricter than the existing norms designed to limit the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere. It is supposed to be enforced in Europe in 2019-2020.

Autostrada Polska is one of the largest exhibition events in Europe, featuring hundreds of tonnes of equipment, some 20,000 visitors, and 33,000m2 of exhibition area rented to over 800 participants from 26 countries. Participation in the expo represents an excellent opportunity for BelAZ to demonstrate its potential, accomplishments, and high-tech competitive products to new business partners. It also helps advance mutually beneficial cooperation.
