MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – In January-May 2017 the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ exported 120% more merchandise in comparison with the same period of last year, BelAZ representatives told BelTA.

This year BelAZ products have been exported to 22 countries. In January-May export to Russia rose by 2.2 times in comparison with the same period of last year. Export to non-CIS states went up by 130%, with export to CIS states up by nearly 100%. As far as domestic sales are concerned, the Belarusian granite-mining company RUPP Granit bought a second haul truck BelAZ 75570 with the carrying capacity of 90 tonnes while the Grodno-based engineering company GMZ bought two haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 45 tonnes.

In January-May 2017 BelAZ’s output rose by 75.1%. The shipment of spare parts increased by 63.6% in comparison with January-May 2016. The stock in storage coefficient dropped to 1.58 — the lowest figure on record for the last five years, corresponding to the year 2012 levels.

BelAZ representatives attributed larger output and higher sales to higher workforce productivity among other reasons. In turn, higher workforce productivity is fueled by rising salaries. In January-May 2017 salaries at BelAZ averaged Br1,014.7.

This year’s business portfolio is full. The company is now taking orders for the next year. In 2016 BelAZ’s industrial output rose by 50% in comparison with 2015.
