TASHKENT, 1 June (BelTA) - Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange signed a cooperation agreement, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA) reported.

During the visit of the Belarusian delegation to the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange the parties discussed the prospects for economic cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan, the new forms of organization of exchange trade and shared their best practices.

“Our aim is to apply new methods of exchange trade. Currently our organization has more than 16,000 customers, among them over 3,700 are foreign clients representing 56 countries. In 2008, our Exchange joined the CIS International Association of Exchanges,” Deputy Chairperson of the BUCE Board Irina Narkevich said. “The agreements that we signed with the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange in the past benefited the economies of out countries. We hope that the new agreement will produce good results as well,” she added.

The parties noted that the cooperation between the BUCE and the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange has a long history. Bilateral agreements create a strong foundation for further promising cooperation.
