MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor will start making parts and components for loaders at an assembly enterprise in Egypt. The license agreement to assemble the products was signed in Cairo, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by the Egyptian military production minister, Amkodor’s director general, top executives of ECARD Company (Amkodor’s dealership in Egypt) and the enterprise of the National Organization for Military Production of Egypt where the loaders will be assembled. The sides intend to secure a level of localization over the course of two years that will allow selling the products not only in Egypt but in partner countries (COMESA, the Middle East).

The agreement was signed with assistance of the Embassy of Belarus in Egypt as part of the efforts to fulfill the Belarusian head of state’s instructions given during Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit to Egypt in 2017 and during the Egypt president’s visit to Minsk in June 2019.

Amkodor’s vehicles are now assembled in the city of Abu Zaabal. The enterprise assembles frontal and universal loaders, skid loaders, and other utility vehicles. “In the past we had machines assembled out of assembly kits. Now we are supposed to hand over technical documents, which will be used to localize the production of specified parts and components. The production of buckets for loaders in Egypt will be the first stage of the process,” Amkodor representatives said.

Amkodor penetrated the Egyptian market in late 2017. The memorandum to set up the assembly enterprise was signed in early December 2018. The company has already shipped 30 machines to Egypt. A contract for the delivery of another ten machines and 20 assembly kits by the end of the year has been signed.
