Belarusian Amkodor to start building three plants in 2017

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) - The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor will begin the construction of three plants by the year-end, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OAO Amkodor Alexander Shakutin told BelTA on 21 September.

“We invest funds in new plants and products. We will start the construction of another three plants in 2017: Amkodor-Mash in Kolodishchi, Minsk District ($240 million of investment) and two hydraulic equipment plants in Kobrin and Gomel ($177 million of investment),” Alexander Shakutin noted.

Amkodor is also looking into modernizing a Logoisk-based manufacturing facility producing forestry vehicles. “This week a relevant project will be submitted to a bank for consideration. We have developed a strategy for the next few years. We plan to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of forestry vehicles. Our products will fully meet the requirements of the most hard-to-please customers,” Alexander Shakutin remarked.

In his words, Amkodor’s every project is based on the principle of self-sufficiency. “In fact, we rely on unique logistics when setting up manufacturing facilities. Today we can build any kind of mechanical engineering plant,” Alexander Shakutin reaffirmed.

The growing output requires additional capacities. “We are the only company in the post-Soviet area that has an expertise in producing steering and drive axles, hydraulic and hydrostatic transmissions. We need to develop this expertise and expand the product line,” he added.

The Amkodor holding company operates 29 enterprises manufacturing vehicles for agriculture, road construction, housing and utilities, forestry, manufacturing, and logistics. Amkodor’s distribution network has over 80 dealers and distributors.
