Belarusian Amkodor to participate in Russian federal melioration program

VITEBSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The excavator-manufacturing division Amkodor-KEZ of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor has reached an agreement with the Melioration Department of the Russian Agriculture Ministry. As part of the agreement the Belarusian enterprise will participate in the implementation of the Russian federal program on melioration that runs till 2020, BelTA learned from Amkodor-KEZ First Deputy Director Oleg Sumbulov.

The agreement was reached when a delegation of the Belarusian holding company took part in the 17th Russian agribusiness expo Golden Autumn, which took place in Moscow on 8-11 October.

During the expo a large-scale presentation of Amkodor was arranged for representatives of the Melioration Department and the Russian Agriculture Ministry on the whole as well as for specialists of public sector organizations that specialize in melioration. Now the Belarusian enterprise has to be included into the Russian registry of melioration machines. Once it is done, the Belarusian enterprise will be able to offer centralized distribution to specialized organizations.

According to the source, the demand for new machines is strong among Russian melioration enterprises. If all the procedural matters are taken care of fast, Amkodor-KEZ intends to start shipping the machines in 2016.

The Russian partners are interested in Amkodor’s lineup of mounted mowers, a canal dredger based on the MTZ-1221 tractor, and the drain-installing excavator with a laser-based inclinometer. The excavator can lay down drainage pipes with the necessary inclination angle at a steady depth. It is a joint product developed by Amkodor-KEZ and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2012.

The federal program provides for a set of measures to modernize the equipment and technologies used by the Russian melioration industry. Machines made by Amkodor are unparalleled in Russia. The Belarusian machines also offer a much better value for money in comparison with Western products. The Belarusian machines are also reputed as reliable and easy to maintain.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Amkodor-KEZ was established in 2014 when the Belarusian mechanical engineering holding company Amkodor bought 91.85% of the shares of OAO Kokhanovo Excavator Factory in accordance with the relevant presidential decree. Amkodor-KEZ still specializes in making machines for melioration operations. It offers the entire range of excavators ranging from compact ones to those fit for general construction operations. The enterprise is one of Belarus’ leading manufacturers of one-bucket hydraulic tracked excavators EO-3223.
