Belarus’ wood product exports up to Georgia

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – Belarus is increasing the supplies of its wood products to Georgia, BelTA learned from Bellesbumprom Concern.

In 2017, Bellesbumprom Concern companies exported $3.2 million worth of products to Georgia, 12.3% up on 2016. In 2018, the companies will continue increasing the exports to Georgia. In January 2018, the exports to Georgia went up by 14.4% in comparison with January 2017.

The Georgia market is of interest to the Bellesbumprom companies primary as a consumer of the Belarusian furniture, chip boards, plywood, wallpaper, paper, cardboard and other types of wood products.

In 2017, furniture accounted for $1.4 million in the total exports. Second was plywood - $995,000, which was followed by wallpaper ($310,000) and chipboards (about $260,000). Belarus also sells lumber, doors, windows and other timber products to Georgia.
